Members raise important issues during Zero hour | Zero Hour | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Feb 27: Several members raised issues of public importance during Zero Hour in Legislative Council today. Ajay Kumar Sadhotra raised issue of declaring Kabir Jayanti as a holiday. Syed Rafiq Shah raised issue of providing land to nomad Gujjars besides alternate pasturelands during winter season in Jammu province. Naresh Kumar Gupta sought relief and rehabilitation to people in Kishtwar and Doda affected by snow fall and wanted to know the steps taken in this regard. Javed Ahmad Rana sought intervention of the Government to safeguard and promote Urdu language in the state. Vijay Bakaya raised the issue of pending salary of migrant employees in SDA. Ghulam Qadir Pardesi sought widening the ambit of J&K Public Services Guarantee Act to include services under R&B, PHE and Cooperatives. Jehangir Hussain Mir raised the issues pertaining to agriculture in his area. Dr. Bashir Ahmad Veeri raised the issue regarding recent threats to Panchs and Sarpanchs in Anantnag. Mohammad Amin Bhat demanded setting up of a survey team to assess the damage due to snow fall at Kond Devsar of district Kulgam. Haji Ali Mohammad Bhat also sought compensation for the damage caused by recent snow fall in Ganderbal, Kangan, Sonamarg, Gund, Sherpathri, Wakura and surrounding areas. Sheikh Ghulam Rasool asked the Government to come up with a policy decision on private practice by doctors. Nurboo Gialchan raised the issue regarding funds allotted under various agriculture schemes to Ladakh region and demanded increase in fund allocations in this regard. Subash Chander Gupta raised the issue of pending compensation to the drought hit farmers of Jammu province. S. Dharamveer Singh Oberio asked the Government to allow hoteliers of Gulmarg and Pahalgam to renovate their hotels to facilitate tourists. Mohammad Ashraf Mir raised the issue regarding escalating air travel fair especially during peak tourist season and inclement weather conditions and demanded Government regulation in this regard. B. R. Kundal sought compensation to the affectees of hail storm in various areas of Jammu province. Master Noor Hussain raised the issue regarding shortage of Urdu teachers in Jammu. |
