DPC meeting in Health Deptt mandatory: Sham | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Feb 27 : Minister for Health and Horticulture, Sham Lal Sharma has said that strenuous efforts are being made to upgrade health care facilities across the state, adding that all the vacant posts of medicos and para-medicos in health institutions are being filled up in due course of time. This was stated by the Minister in reply to a question by Peerzada Mansoor Hussain today in Legislative Assembly. He said the functioning of the department is being streamlined by taking several initiatives. He said to bring transparency in the functioning of hospitals recently Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC) meeting was held after a gap of 15 years and cleared promotion of Doctors and other staff. He said now the DPC meeting would be mandatory to be held every year for clearing the promotions of medicos and para-medicos. He said the promotion avenues for dental surgeons would be also considered, adding that at present there is only one post of Deputy Director against which the senior most incumbent is promoted.The Minister also informed the House about the details of CMOs, BMOs, Dy CMOs and DHOs posted in health institutions of Kashmir province. He said that 16 B-Grade Specialists and 30 Assistant Surgeons are vacant in Anantnag district, adding that vacancies of Assistant Surgeons are lien vacancies as the doctors against these posts are perusing PGs, Registrar-ship and Senior Residencies at various institutions. He said as soon as they complete their assignment they would be posted against these vacancies. Responding to the supplementaries raised by Vikar Rasool, G. M. Saroori, Abdul Majid Wani, Nazir Ahmad Gurezi and Saifullah Mir, the Minister assured that vacant posts of doctors and para medical staff in their districts would be filled up at the earliest. |
