KATHUA, Feb 27: The sleuths of Sale Tax (ST) department today seized a deluxe tourist bus with fake registration number while it was coming from Punjab to Jammu
When the bus was intercepted by the sleuths of sale tax department, it was found that a fake number plate was put on its front. The discrepancy came to fore while the officers were scrutinising the documents of the bus. During checking it was observed that the registration number was not matched with details as per the documents submitted to the department . While interacting with media persons, the Deputy Commissioner of Sale Tax Commissioner Ashish Gupta told that the owner of the bus would not be spared as tax liability has been made by the department is 13.5% whereas if the documents are forged then u/s section 43 of sale tax amount of tax liability would be double.
