SVO produces challan against SO | | | early times report JAMMU, Feb 27: In a case of possessing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income, the state vigilance organisation (SVO) today produced challan against Nasir Khan, a section officer in planning section of DC office here. He was said to be have amassed moveable and immovable property worth Rs 84,90,523. SVO had received information through a source that Nasir Khan had acquired movable and immovable assets in the shape of a palatial house at Bhatindi and two luxury cars. On verification, SVO found that he had acquired a newly constructed double storey palatial house at Bhatindi worth more than Rs 40 lakh and owned two luxury cars -- JK02S/2022 (Palio) and JK02M/1788 (Matiz). In addition to above, he had luxurious household items and electronic gadgets and had kept the ill-gotten money in various bank accounts. The combined value of the above mentioned assets and expenditure was disproportionate to his known sources of income. Gold ornaments weighing more than a kilogram, bank accounts, cash certificates, fixed deposits and other incriminating documents were also recovered by SVO sleuths during the search of his house. A case was then registered by SVO against him under section 5(1) (e) read with 5(2) of P C Act 2006. After completion of investigation, SVO today presented challan against him in the court of special judge anti-corruption here. |
