| JWAM warns agitation against magnesium mining | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Feb 27: Jammu West Assembly Movement has strongly criticized the approval given by the state and the central Govt to the "project" for the extraction of the "Magnesium Mining" from the Mata Vaishno Devi hills within the radius of 3 kilometers from the "Bhawan". Sunil Dimple president JWAM has expressed great shock and concern over the news item appearing in the news papers that the state and central Govts gave "secret approval" to this "Magnesium Mining" Project which is connected with our Hindu religious sentiments and sanctity of the Mata Vaisho Devi shrine. Talking to media persons Dimple said that he has taken up matter with the Jammu and Kashmir Govt, cabinet ministers and the administration.
He appealed the Governor N N Vohra who is the Chairman of the Mata Veshno Devi Mata Shrine Board to take immediate steps to roll back and stop this project immediately as this "Magnesium Mining" project has badly hurt the sentiments and also all the people of the country and abroad. He warned and said that he has taken up the matter with the J&K state Govt and with cabinet ministers also to roll back this project other wise JWAM will start a Jan andolan like that of " Amarnath land row". He disclosed he is in touch with all the political, social, traders, transporters, heads of various organizations and with the civil society and all the organizations have extended there full support and assured to fight untidily. Sunil Dimple demanded the central UPA Govt. led by Manmohan Singh and State Collision Govt. led by Omar Abd-ullah to immediately intervene in the matter and stop this project, before the situation turns ugly and volatile. He warned that the approval to this "Magnesium Mining" project is an attack on the Hindu community and all the nationalist people of the country and abroad. |
