HC directs SVO SSP not to proceed against DSP Kaith | Gola Shah CD case: | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Feb 27: High court judge, Justice Hasnain Massodi today directed SSP of state vigilance organisation (SVO) not to proceed in the matter against DSP Mohan Lal Kaith till next date of hearing. Special judge anti-corruption had Thursday last forwarded a complaint filed by Ravinder Gupta alias Gola Shahagainst Kaith to SVO SSP for verification of allegations to the extent of agreement or attempt to pay and receive illegal gratification by the accused and further necessary action under law. Gola had levelled serious allegations of corruption against Kaith and claimed that the latter had booked him in wrong cases. He had also produced a CD in the court of law in support of the allegations made by him. In his petition, Kaith submitted that as many as 14 criminal cases had been registered and pending investigation against Gola at police stations under his jurisdiction. He also submitted that he was a member of the special investigation team constituted by the authorities to investigate the matter and that the complaint filed with special judge anti-corruption was intended to prevent him from discharging his statutory duties and influence the investigation supervised by him. The fact that Kaith was associated with the investigation of cases against Gola was also echoed in the February 23 order of special judge anti-corruption. Justice Massodi, after hearing the counsel for the petitioner, issued notice to Gola and others and observed that through the averments made, a case was made for interim direction and directed SVO SSP that he would not proceed in the matter against the petitioner till the next date of hearing. |
