| Dudha terms it unfortunate | | Boycott of LA proceedings by media | | Early Times Report
Srinagar, Feb 28 : While terming the entire incident of boycott of Assembly proceedings by Media as unfortunate, Political Secretary of Peoples Democratic Front, Shiban Dudha, hoped that there would be an immediate resolution of the stalemate and fourth estate would be again seen in the reserved galleries of state Assembly.The PDF leader said the Assembly has a recorded past history of excellent and smooth functioning since the days of Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah and is comparable with best performing assembly in the country."As head of the legislature, and powers and duties bestowed and cast on him, the Speaker needs to ensure that media as fourth estate of our country lends its essence to the democracy and our institutions. Media has an important role to play which area remains unfulfilled by their boycott," he said in a statement.The PDF leader hoped that any hurt caused to media would be immediately addressed. |
