| Central funds for SCs being diverted for other purposes : Manhas | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Feb 28: State BJP president Shamsher Singh Manhas said that BJP leaders across the state, Jammu province in particular, has been continuously receiving complaints regarding non-implementation of Central schemes for the welfare of SCs in the state. Central funds meant for welfare and development of SCs in the state is being diverted for other purposes. Reservation rules are not being implemented properly in recruitments and promotions. He further said that scholarships and pensions by the social welfare department are not reaching genuine and deserving people. Only those with political and bureaucratic links in the coalition government are enjoying the benefits of all such schemes despite the fact that they all are well off and do not need any financial or other aid.
Manhas said that the BJP has been all along raising the voice of the SCs at all platforms and assure the community that our party will take up their plight in more effective manner in the coming days.
BJP State Vice-President Bali Bhagat expressed his serious concern for ignoring the directions of the Planning Commission of India by the Congress-NC coalition government deliberately and not submitting the SCs sub plan in time. |
