GCW organises poster- cum-painting competition | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Feb 28: Government College for Women (GCW), Parade Ground, Jammu organized a poster- cum-painting competition today on the theme 'Forests for Sustainable Livelihood'. The program was organized in collaboration with the 'World Wide Fund for Nature-India'. 30 students from different faculties of Science participated in the programme and Roubi Devi of B.Sc. Part I stood first while Gurpreet Kour of B.A Part I and Ritima Singh Manhas of B.Sc. Part II stood second and third respectively. Prof. Kuldeep Sharma and Prof. Ram Singh from Dept. of Zoology, GGMScience College and Prof. Chander Shekhar from GCW, Parade Ground were the judges on the occasion. Dr. Kiran Bakshi, Principal of the college applauded the efforts of the students and said that the organization of such programs in the college exhorts the students and also makes them aware and conscious of the environment around them. Dr. Pragya Khanna, Head, Dept. of Zoology was the Organizing Secretary of the program. Prof. Neelam Gupta and Prof. Chanchal Angral were also present on the occasion. |
