| New Akhara for budding wrestlers : JKWA | | | JAMMU | JAN 20
To promote the Indian style of wrestling in the state, a number of schemes are on the anvil in the state, said president of J&K Wrestling Association Om Parkash Sharma in a press meet hold here today. Sharma said, youth of the region are seen taking interest in the wrestling than before, which is very encouraging he said, one more training centre for the up-coming wrestlers is being setup at R.S Pura, There are 20 Akharas in the Jammu regions, where youth are provided training etc. he further said, association needs encouragement from the government in this regard, so that day by day the wrestling game become popular in the state. It is pertinent to mention here that there is already an association existing in the State under same banner the bearers of new parallel association alleged that they are not working for the welfare of the wrestlers so its is the need of the hour to promote wrestling in the state. Present on the occasion were Gen. Secretary Kulbir Singh, Raju Sharma, Vijay Pahlwan, Krishan Pahalwan etc.
