Early Times Report JAMMU, Feb 28: By apprehending four alleged criminals while they were about to assault a shopkeeper near Domana here late last night, police today claimed to have averted a possible murder. Two revolvers were recovered from the accused, who were in a Scorpio (JK02AA/0458), police sources said. Sources said Kamal Kishore alias Bittu Poonchi, son of Om Prakash, was late last night returning home at Udheywala after closing his shop when the Scorpio stopped close to him. While the six persons, who were sitting in the Scorpio, assaulted Bittu with the alleged intention to kill him, a Domana police station patrol reached there, the sources added. Sources said before the accused could execute their alleged plan, the cops caught hold of four of them. The two others, however, managed to escape under the cover of darkness. The accused were identified as Pawan Kumar, son of Beli Ram of Patoli, Vikram Singh alias Chintu, son of Karan Singh of Bantalab, Tara Chand, son of Bansi Lal of Patoli, Pawan, Ganesh, and Pinki, all sons of Rampal of Karloop. Pawan and Pinki carried revolvers which were seized by police. A case under sections 341, 323, 147 and 148 of RPC and 3/25 of Arms Act was registered against them at Domana police station.
