The meeting deliberated on the problem faced by the community in the state of displacement and the callous attitude of the state and central Governments in solving our day to day problems. The meeting expressed grave concern for the dilapidated conditions of our temples and shrines including our cremation grounds which have been grabbed by some miscreants and the Govt. agencies too have not spared such places. The price hike coupled with double digit inflation has made the life miserable as the present doles which the migrants get do not sufficient get their square meals not to speak of educating their children. The members expressed their concern over the disappearance of some Sikh youths as we have already tested the bitter pill when we see that Sunil Kumar of Chandrigam is still untraceable despite out repeated reminders to the government. HL Chatta, General Secy of the organization said Kashmiri Pandits being an ethnic minority which the chairman of the National Minority Commission has also accepted and recommended it to the State Government, however, the comunity is not still given the minority status, while majority community of the state is considered as the minority. |
