Govt considering land acquisition, rehabilitation under NLP: Bhalla

JAMMU, Feb 29: Minister for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation, Raman Bhalla in reply to a question by Balwant Singh Mankotia today informed the House that the rates of land acquisition in the State vary from location to location, which he said determined on the basis of classification of soil, type of land, proximity with towns, roads, commercial establishments, potential value of land and other factors enumerated under section 23 of the Land Acquisition Act.
Replying to the supplementaries raised by Vikar Rasool, Harshdev Singh, Sharief Niaz, the Minister said that government contemplates to consider the cost of land and rehabilitation in the state under National Land Policy (NLP).
Bloeria Commission Report for creation of new administrative units under examination: Bhalla Minister for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation, Raman Bhalla has said that government has received Bloria Commission report regarding creation of new administrative units and re-organization of existing ones in the state, adding that the said report of the Committee is under examination of the government for taking appropriate action.
Replying to a question by Abdul Majid Wani in Legislative Assembly here today, the Minister said that special girdawari for kharief crop has been conducted in entire district Doda including Doda constituency. He said the losses and damages to Kharief crops during 2011 are between 50 to 80% in the area.
The Minister said that to provide immediate succor to the families and persons affected due to any notified natural calamity the funds to the tune of Rs. 8 crore each have been placed at the disposal of Divisional Commissioners, Kashmir and Jammu for meeting the contingencies during the current year.
He said that since land settlement operation has not extended to district Doda so far to limited manpower and machinery, no bifurcation of revenue villages has taken in the area.
