Zero Hour in Legislative Council

JAMMU, Feb 29: Several members raised issues of public importance during Zero Hour in Legislative Council today. Sheikh Ghulam Rasool demanded de-notification of 20 villages brought within the Municipal limits of Srinagar and be made part of district Ganderbal.
B. R Kundal raised issue regarding menace created by beggars in the cities and demanded for developing a mechanism to check and curb this menace.
Dr. Bashir Ahmad Veeri demanded Degree College for Pahalgam.
Javed Ahmad Rana demanded adequate hostel facilities in Jammu for the students belonging to Rajouri and Poonch.
Bashir Ahmad Magrey raised the issue regarding breakdown of electricity supply in Pulwama and demanded prompt action by the Government to address the issue.
Syed Rafiq Shah raised the issue that he was not allowed to reply to the Governor's Address.
Khalid Najeeb Suharwardy raised the issue regarding acquisition of land for polytechnic college Doda.
Master Noor Hussain raised the issue regarding issuance of State subject in DC office, Jammu.
S. Dharam Bir Singh demanded bus service between Panjtherthi and Sidhra via Bikram Chowk.
Syed Ahmad Rizvi raised the issue that no candidate from Ladakh region was selected for the post of Assistant Information Officer/Information Assistant.
Murtaza Ahmad Khan demanded up-gradation of Munsif Court Mendher to District Court level.
Naresh Kumar Gupta asked the Government to constitute a high power committee to look into the grievances of various groups who agitated in favour of their demands.
Jehangir Hussain Mir raised the issue regarding remuneration to educated youth working with Panchayats under NYCK.
Subash Chander Gupta raised the issue of striking Safai Karmchari in Urban Local Bodies and demanded that their genuine issues be considered.
Nurboo Gialchan demanded of funds for inter-state bus terminal at Leh.
