Court awards life-imprisonment to murder accused | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Samba, Feb 29: Principal Sessions Judge Samba today awarded life-imprisonment accused facing trial for committing murder of one Mohd Hamid. Principal Sessions Judge Samba R S Jain after hearing Public Prosecutor Sukh Dev Singh Jamwal for the State whereas Adv SK Sharma for the accused person observed that keeping in view the age of the accused, imprisonment for life shall be adequate sentence in the present case. Accordingly, the accused Wasim Ahmed s/o Maohd. Naseer r/o Sangarwal Dharlal, Milk Khar Tehsil Darhal District Rajouri is sentenced to undergo imprisonment for life and a fine of Rs.20000/- for offence u/s 302 RPC in causing the murder of one Mohd Hamid. In default of payment of fine, the accused shall undergo imprisonment for six months. The sentence of imprisonment for life, however, shall be subject to confirmation by the High Court. According to the police case that on November 15, 2008 Girdhari Lal filed a written complaint in P/S Bari Brahmana who had a servant namely Mohd Hamid at his welding shop. On opening the door Nov 15, he saw Mohd Hamid lying dead in the room, complainant stated. On receipt of this information, FIR No. 140/2008 for the offence under Section 302 RPC was registered in P/S Bari Brahmana and during investigation, the IO came to the conclusion that Mohd Hamid was murdered by accused Wasim Ahmed who had rented the room on the first floor of Shop. The accused made disclosure statement in this regard and accordingly, presented challan was presented against him for the offence under Section 302 RPC. (JNF) |
