SBY for BPL families launched in J&K: Sham | Private Members' Resolution | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Feb 29: Minister for Health and Floriculture Sham Lal Sharma on Wednesday said that BPL families and labour class will be insured under Swasth Bima Yojana, aiming to provide better healthcare to the poor and labour class. He said the ailing members of BPL families will be entitled to get treatment up to Rs. 35,000 under the Yojana. This was stated by the Minister while replying to Private Members Resolution moved by Kafeel-ur Rehman and some amendments by Prof. Chaman Lal Gupta nad Harsh Dev Singh in the Legislative Assembly. Referring to flagship scheme of National Rural Health Mission (NRHM), Sham said that the objective of the mission was to contain mother and infant mortality rate. He said as many as 1905 FMPHW were engaged under NRHM last year and over 6,000 manpowers is manning the mission. He said the medicos engaging under the mission for remote and inaccessible areas of the state are being provided Rs. 40,000 per month as honorarium, adding that the monthly remuneration of Para-medicos engaged under the mission is likely to be enhanced, adding that there are also chances of their regularization in future. Giving details of Rogi Kalyan Samiti Scheme, the Minister said that the State received Rs. 29 crore under the scheme, adding that MLA have the powers to disburse up to Rs. 25,000 as medical assistance to the ailing people of his constituency. Sham said that the Union Government has launched Remote Sensing Scheme in 100 districts of the country, adding that 9 districts of the state are being covered under the scheme. The Minister said that all districts hospitals of the state would be equipped with modern diagnostic equipments in Phase -I, adding that digital X-ray machine has already been installed in Gurez hospital. Later, the member withdrew his resolution after the assurance from the government. |
