Home Guards demand salaries at par with their Punjab counterparts | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Feb 29: The Jawans of All Jammu and Kashmir Home Guards organized a rally from Press Club Jammu towards Civil Secretariat Jammu today to high-light their genuine demands especially for the enhancement of their salary at par to the salaries of the Punjab Home Guard Jawans. Led by President All J&K Home Guard Welfare Association Kamla Sharma, the Home Guards shouted slogans in support of their demands. While addressing the rally, Kamla Sharma, Presi-dent of the Association, said that the Punjab Government has been kind enough to provide better salaries to the Jawans of Punjab Home Guards, whereas, the J&K State Home Guards are being paid only Rs 545 per month, i.e. only for 9 working days, thus causing great injustice to the Jawans of J&K Home Guard who are performing their duties round the clock regularly like other belt forces. She said it is very difficult now-a-days when the prices of all the essential commodities are shooting up day by day, to meet their day to day domestic expenses with their present rate of wages, which every body can understand. Kamla Sharma has appealed to all the political leaders, to render their support to these deserving J&K Home Guard personnel who are hard-working, honest, performing their duties round the clock, where-ever they are deployed by the administration, to the entire satisfaction of the administration. |
