Omar happy over deadlock end | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Feb 29: The Chief Minister Omar Abdullah is delighted over end of deadlock betweenth 4 speaker and the media. Talking to a local news agency, Omar said that there was some communication gap between the media persons and the speaker that was finally resolved today amicably by the speaker. Asserting that his government was enjoying a very good working relationship with the press, he said both media and government were playing their defined role constructively. "The media was fully cooperative in discrimination the right information to the people and highlighting the achievements of his government", he said. Omar clarified his recent statement while winding up discussion on Motion of Thanks on Governors address. "I was actually referring to the allegation made by PDP frequently that his government was surviving only because of media", he said. Omar hoped that media will continue to play its role in strengthening the democratic institutions in the State. When asked why efforts were not made to break the deadlock earlier, he said he had appealed both the parties on the floor of the house but some misunderstanding had cropped due to which it stretched over three days which was unfortunate. |
