Wanted absconder arrested

Jammu, Mar 1: Police has claimed to have arrested an absconder wanted in different criminal cases including land grabbing and threatening witnesses of the cases in which they are accused.
According to police a police team of P/S Bishnah headed by SHO Jaipal Sharma under the direct supervision of Shailender Singh, SP Hqrs Jammu and Shamsher Singh Sambyal, SDPO R S Pura apprehended a wanted absconder nam-ely Jogesh Singh @ David s/o Govind Singh of Thalora Mandi, Samba involved in case FIR No. 86/2010 u/s 302/ 307/147/ 148/149/341/ 323/ 109/ RPC, 4/25 A. Act, of P/S Bishnah."
"The accused has been evading his arrest since the commission of the offence in the instant case, police added.
It is pertinent to mention here that the said absconder was also involved in following 08 cases, viz. 88/2000 U/S 436/323/ 332/ 147/ 148/ 427/RPC; 89/2000/U/S 435/147/148/RPC; 06/2001 U/S 336/427/341/147/148/ RPC; 13/2007 U/S 341/323/ 34/RPC; 4/25 A-Act; 161/ 2007 U/S 452/427/323/ RPC, 4/25 A-Act; 35/2008 U/S 341/323/34/RPC;74/ 2010 U/S 307/147/148/341/ RPC, 4/25 A-Act and 91/2008 U/S 3/25, 4/25/149/ RPC have been registered against him earlier in District Samba.
Police spokesperson stated that absconder has been detained twice under PSA by District Magistrate Samba on 10.08.2007 and second PSA detention on 30.04.2008 earlier but since last case registered at Bishnah he has been evading his arrest.
"He is a close associate of Anil Singh @ Billa S/O Karan Singh R/O Gurha Salathia, Samba, who is a co-accused in the instant case and involved in following cases registered against FIR No.66/03 u/s 307/34/ RPC, 4/25 A.Act; FIR No.68/08 u/s 451/427/147/ RPC and FIR No.33/09 u/s 307/323/RPC, 4/25 A.Act at P/S Vijaypur.
"Anil Singh is still absconding in case FIR No. 86/2010 u/s 302/ 307/147/ 148/149/341/ 323/ 109/ RPC, 4/25 A. Act, P/S Bishnah and efforts are on afoot to arrest the said accused person," said police spokesperson further addi-ng that the duo is associated with land grabbing and is also accused of threatening the witnesses of the cases in which they are accused.
