Agri technocrats' hunger strike enters day 3 | | | early times report JAMMU, Mar 1: The hunger strike launched by J&K Agriculture Techno-crats Association in support of their regularization at Mubarak Mandi here entered third day today. The Association started hunger strike against Cabinet decision of last year regarding flaws created in regularization of the services of the Agri technocrats working as Rehbar-e-Zirat, at Mubarak Mandi. The four members of the Association including its president Surinder Radotra, Rajiv Singh Chib its general secretary, Sat Paul Dogra and Sat Paul Raina sat on the fast in first instance yesterday. They demanded immediate amendment in regularization policy. Addressing his colleagues, Mr Radotra said that Government while taking the Cabinet decision regarding the regularization of the Rehbar-e-Zirat last year had decided that Agri technocrats working as ReZs will be regularized after completion of seven years, eight years and nine years service which is unacceptable. He said earlier the Association, was assured by the Government that they will be regularized on the pattern of ReT teachers but later the Government backtracked from its commitment which has generated a lot of resentment among the agriculture technocrats. He said it is totally injustice with agri technocrats in the State and demanded that all the 2642 Rehbar-e-Zirat technocrats be regularized immediately. Addressing the media persons today Dr Khursheed president JKA-TUF said that nine year tenure has not been fixed by any State to provide Government jobs which is totally injustice to ReZ especially overaged candidates. He said that State Government should look at the extreme level of deprivation of ReZ with clear and transparent vision and initiate amendment of the policy for 2642 ReZ employees of the State, otherwise the Association will intensify agitational programme. |
