GEJAC dismayed over invite to selective in meeting with CS | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Mar 1: An emergency meeting of both the Government Employees Joint Action Committee (GEJAC) units of Jammu and Kashmir provinces was held at their HQs to discuss the response of the government over the demands of the employees. Suresh Sharma and Aijaz Khan, spokespersons for respective provinces in a statement expressed dismay and surprise over the Government action in calling selective representatives of the employees and confining and focusing mainly on one issue i.e. increase in retirement age to 60 years and putting other burning demands cleverly in the back-burner during the so called meeting held in the secretariat. They said these leaders are only pressing for increasing in the age limit for the reasons known to all. We categorically made it clear that for the GEJAC the issues were prioritized as release of 6th pay commission arre-ars in two equal cash instalments, regularization of daily wagers, consolidated and contractual employees, rem-oval of pay anomalies of cler-ical and other cadres, implementation of 6th pay commission report on PSUs and extending budgetary support, removal of conditions on withdrawal of GP fund, framing of policy for REZ, EVs and RETs and the age issue was the last priority of the employees of the State and in case government fails to address the main issues first, the employees will come on the roads and the responsibility of the same shall be entirely of the government. |
