| Kranti Dal condemns ignorance towards Link Canal Akalpur | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Mar 1: Kranti Dal along with the people from Lower Muthi and Akalpur held a protest at Akalpur against irrigation department for ignoring the link canal from main canal to link canal lower Muthi and Akalpur.
In a protest led by president & sarpanch Lower Muthi Raj Roop Singh Chib along with Jagdish Sudan, youth working president and sarpanch Akalpur Varinder Singh Kranti Dal and people from both the panchyats Lower Muthi and Akalpur gathered at Akalpur and listed their grievances against Irrigation department while raising anti-department slogans While talking to the media, Raj Roop Singh said that link canal is full of silt, weeds and other waste materials. The main protest was held for not constructing the concrete sides of link canal. When water flow in heavy pressure as a result water over flow into the fields and roads damaging the crops, vegetables along the link canal and also water get accumulated on the roads which causes accidents many times.
Heap of rubbish and waste lying in the canal diverts water flow towards the fields and roads. Heavy water pressure cuts the portion of fields and roads, they lament. The people from Lower Muthi and Akalpur warned the state govt. and irrigation department to construct the sides of link canal from lower Muthi to Akalpur within the short period otherwise the people from both the panchyats will block the Jammu-Poonch road to highlight their demands.
