3/1/2012 11:21:26 PM

Early Times Report

Jammu, Mar 1: The decision to hold Municipal elections by the state government is somewhere hurting the sentiments and interests of the Jammu youth because there is many discrepancies in the voters' lists, said a student leader, Jagjyot Singh.
Addressing a press conference here today, Singh said that many students who are above the age of 18 years are complaining that their names are not mentioned in the voters' lists.
He alleged that no revision of voters' lists has been done in last many years because of which many youth of Jammu will not be able to cast their vote in the coming Municipal Elections.
The elections if conducted in such a manner will somewhere weaken the democratic setup of the country, he added.
Jagjyot Singh also urged that voter lists should be first revised and then only elections should be held otherwise it will be just mockery of the whole system.
