| FCI employees holds demonstration against management | | | JAMMU | JAN 20
The employees of Food Corporation of India (FCI) staged a dharna in the premises of its required office here today and raised stages against the management not meeting their demands. F.C.I employees at national level have been agitating since January 6 over the vital issues affecting them like compassionate appointment for dependents of diseased employees, filling up backlog of SC/ST employees in dependence to F.C.I from deputations, better pension scheme on the pattern of Banks and LIC, stopping of dismissal/Victimization of senior leaders of unions exposing corruption of Bureaucrats, stopping unnecessary atrocities upon employees in the form of imposing penalties for cases which are twenty years old, for fresh recruitment to Class iii and iv employees as F.C.I is facing acute shortage of staff at present. During Lunch hour, leaders of unions addressed the gathering Sukhdev Singh Regional secretary; F.C.I Executive Staff Union while addressing the gathering warned management unnecessary harassing of employees. He appealed the employees to remain united in the crucial hour to achieve goal. Rattan Lal Sharma, addressing the employees stressed upon them not to heed the false propaganda of F.C.I management and other unions who are bent upon to fail the movement but assured the employees that with their constant support and exemplary unity the management will be bound to accept the demands of the employees. Surinder Singh Regional President of F.C.I Staff Union Cited the previous examples of struggle by employees. He said that unlit those who struggle gets success. He also appealed the employees to remain united and participate in the programme of agitation with zeal to achieve the goal.
