| 103 physiotherapist posts referred to recruiting agencies: Sham Lal | | | Jammu, Mar 1: Minister for Health Services Sham Lal Sharma today informed Legislative Assembly that government has created 103 posts of physiotherapists and referred to recruiting agencies for extending physiotherapy treatment facilities in the state.
Replying to a question by Peer Afaaq Ahmed, the Minister said that recruiting agencies have accorded priority in the selection process for the posts referred by health department. He said Rs. 20 crore is needed for creation of physiotherapy infrastructure in health institutions.In reply to the supplementaries by Mohammad Sharif Niaz, Abdul Haq Khan, M. Y. Tarigami, Dr. Mohammad Shafi and Mir Saifullah, the Minister said that in view of catering the demand of rehabilitation of accidental cases besides other Ortho related diseases the importance of physiotherapy treatment has increased. He said keeping in view the importance for introducing this treatment in health institutions, the government is endeavoring to create such infrastructure in hospitals, for which a huge amount is required.
He suggested legislators that they also release Rs. 5 lakh each from constituency development fund for creating physiotherapy infrastructure in health institutions of their constituencies. |
