| HRA hails Winter Carnival at Patinitop | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Mar 1: Hotel & Restaurant Association (HRA), Patnitop has hailed the decision of Tourism department to hold three day long "Winter Carnival" from March 3 at Patnitop, the famous hill resort of Jammu region.
In a press statement issued here today, the HRA president Kushal Magotra welcomed the decision and termed it as a positive step to boost the tourism sector in Jammu region.
"The Winter Carnival is indeed a welcome move. Such a festival will definitely give a fillip to the tourism industry in the state in general and Jammu region in particular. HRA appreciates the tourism department for organizing the Carnival at Patnitop," HRA president Kushal Magotra said.
"We assure that hoteliers and traders of Patnitop will extend all possible help and cooperation to the authorities concerned for making the event a grand success," Magotra added.
Magotra, however, said that tourists from outside state may skip the event as there are reports of alleged unnecessary and undue stoppage of Patnitop bound vehicles at different 'nakas' including Kandoli Nagrota, Jhajjar Kotli, Katra and Udhampur. This harassment of tourists might create hurdles in making the Carnival a successful show.
He appealed the authorities to check the needless halting of Patnitop bound vehicles particularly Commercial Vehicles at different nakas so that the tourists don't get harassed and they enjoy a hassle free journey for Patnitop. |
