Bhim calls for national commission on reorganization of states | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Mar 1:Chairman, Jammu Kashmir National Panthers Party Prof Bhim Singh has urged Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh to constitute a National Commission for the comprehensive Reorganization of States in India with the scope of the mandate of the Constitution of India. While addressing a National Convention in Golkanda, Telangana, Bhim Singh said that there is a need to amend Constitution of India in order to empower Parliament to legislate in respect of J&K vis-à-vis matters in the Central List in the interest of democracy and National Integration. He expressed sympathy with the people of Gorkhaland, Bodoland, Harit Pradesh, Ladakh-Gilgit and Jammu Pradesh, who have been subjected to discrimination and several political suppressions since 1947. Prof. Bhim Singh urged Prime Minister to act with courage and wisdom in announcing the State of Telangana without any delay. The Panthers Chief warned the Central leadership that further delay in accepting the popular voice of the people to grant them statehood in Telangana shall prove counter-productive and may damage the roots of democracy in India. Prof. Bhim Singh said that the problem in J&K is political and the solution lies in Reorganization of the State granting three independent Legislative Assemblies to each region; Ladakh (including Gilgit-Baltistan), Jammu Pradesh (including PoK) and the Kashmir Valley. Prof Singh said that J&K government is the most corrupt government today as compared to any other state in the country. He said that dismissal of J&K government followed by fresh Assembly election is the only solution to punish the corrupt and the criminal ministers including the Chief Minister. |
