| Mangat Ram conferred with J&K Ratna award | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Mar 2: Village Social welfare and Development Committee Kishanpur , Dungara , a registered voluntary organisation in Billawar Tehsil conferred Jammu and Kashmir Ratna ( Award) for the year 2011-12 to Mangat Ram Sharma ex Dy Chief Minister J&K ,Ram L Upadhaya former UNO advisor to India , and Ashok Vaid a renowned cancer specialist for their contribution to the society . A citation, medal and memento were given to the dignitaries by the president of the committee. On the occasion , the organisation also conferred District Gourav Puruskar to Chand Kishor Sharma , Block Development Officer Majalta , Narayan Dutt Sharma ( National Youth Awardee ) and A.K Gupta for the their exemplary social services . It is pertinent to mention here that the Social welfare and Development Committee Kishanpur Dungara , Tehsil Billawar District Kathua was established in 1978 and registered in Feb. 1980 . The president of the committee S.P Sharma threw light on the activities taken-up by the organisation for the betterment of the people especially poor and down trodden people . A culture programme was also presented by the students and locals . Among others , Naib Tehsildar Billawar Sh. Pankaj Sharma , Sarpanch of Panchayat Madan Lal , Tehsil Social Welfare Officer , CDPO Billawar and prominent persons were also present |
