| MIER celebrate’s 76th foundation day | | | Early Times Report
Jammu , Mar 2: To commemorate the completion of 76 glorious years of dedicated service in the field of education, Model Institute of Education and Research (MIER) celebrated its Foundation Day.
An impressive and colourful function was organized by the institute at its B.C. Road campus on this occasion. Arun K. Gupta, Chairman MIER Group of Institutions was the chief guest on the occasion
Other luminaries who graced the occasion were the members of the Board of Directors, high rankingofficials, social activists, prominent citizensand large number of parents of the students of various wings of the institute.
Dr.RenuGupta, Director MIER, accorded a warm welcome to the Chief Guest and also the other distinguished guests present.
She highlighted the achievements and contributions of the honourable Chief GuestDr.Arun K. Gupta. Dr.Renu Gupta also extend a hearty welcomed the honoured guests and the parents of the students who had joined in the celebrations of the foundation day.
An impressive cultural programme was presented by the students of Humming Buds, both branches of Model Academy,MIER College of Education and Model Institute of Engineering and Technology. The cultural Programme commenced with a tribute to the Goddess of Knowledge in the form of a SaraswatiVandana which mesmerized the audience.
The little angels of Humming Buds brought the Jungle to the stage through their item 'Mougli'.
The message of global village was given by the school kids in the form of a dance number
'We are the World' representing dances of the different countries.
It was followed by a skit on the burning issue 'Corruption'. The school band rocked the stage with their rocking performance followed by a Hip-hop danceby the Engineering students which lifted the mood of all present.
The fusion dance by the B.Ed students depicting the integration of thestate had the audience tapping their feet on familiar dances and humming along melodious beats.
The Chief Guest, in his address appreciated the efforts of the students and the staff of the institution.
He expressed his gratitude to the public and especially the parents for extending unflinching support to MIER for over seven decades.
Vote of thanks was presented by Dr. Adit Gupta, Joint Director MIER whoexpressed heartfelt gratitude to the Chief Guest on behalf of the students, staff and management of the institute for providing the much needed encouragement and assured that the institute will continue to serve the society with greater verve and enthusiasm. |
