Kashmiri Pandits Demand Full PM Employment Package | | | early times report JAMMU, Mar 2: Kashmiri Pandits today held a demonstration here demanding full implementation of Prime Minister's employment package of 6,000 jobs for youths of the displaced community. "The PM's employment package, announced in April 2008, has not been implemented in toto," Youth All India Kashmiri Samaj (YAIKS) president told R K Bhat told reporters here. "Of the 6,000 jobs announced, only 1,438 posts got filled ...It clearly shows the discrimination against KP youths being done by the state administration," he said in front of the Press Club, the protest venue. Bhat said the JK cabinet in August 2011 had sanctioned de-reservation of unfilled reserved category posts and non joining posts created under the special package, "but unfortunately this decision has been put in abeyance for reasons best known to the administration". If the decision is not implemented within a week, YAIKS will launch an indefinite hunger strike, he said, urging Chief Minister Omar Abdullah's personal intervention in the issue.
