Sources said Javed had arranged Ahtesham's training in arms and bomb making in a house although his father had sent him to Hazaribagh for studies as his mother was from that place. He is reported to have been arrested once in 2007 for his alleged links with local militants. Claiming that both were innocent, their families accused Delhi police of making baseless and fabricated claim to frame them Tauseef's mother, Mehbooba, said her innocent son had left for Jharkhand for studies. "While studying in 12th class, Tauseef also worked as a salesman with a shop in Sopore bus stand. On January 28, 2012 the special operations group of the state police had arrested him and set him free the next day. But, on January 30, he was again taken into custody, subjected to torture and released later in a half-dead condition," she said, adding that on enquiry police had told them that they were questioning Tauseef about some mobile SIM card matter. However, after some time, his cousin was set free. The news about Tauseef's arrest came to the family as a bolt from the blue, Mehbooba said, adding that the other youth, Ahtesham, was his sister's son, who is already studying in Jharkhand having already completed his graduation. She said Ahtesham was on way to Patna for examination when he was arrested. Meanwhile, Jharkhand police has raided Ahtesham's house at Hazaribagh and arrested one more youth identified as Taufeeq Ahmad Peer, who too is related to him.
