Re-launch anti polythene campaign with full vigor : DY CM | | | Early Times Report SRINAGAR, Mar 2: Deputy Chief Minister, Tara Chand while taking review of Srinagar Municipal Committee, Srinagar Development Authority, Local Bodies and other departments including Housing in Kashmir valley emphasised on completion of all ongoing works within shortest possible time. He advised Commissioner SMC, Dr. G.N. Qasba to re-launch the campaign against use of polythene in the same manner as it was successfully implemented in letter and spirit in recent past. Dr. Qasba informed the Deputy Chief Minister that a similar campaign will be launched on the ground level and general public will be involved in the campaign. The meeting was attended by Director Information, Khawaja Farooq Renzushah also who assured that Information department will provide media support to SMC for such awareness campaign. The Deputy Chief Minister while taking serious note of returning the seized polythene material to the dealers in violation of existing rules and government orders. He said that government has issued specific order in 2008 which was successfully implemented at that time while appreciating Dr. Qasba for his commitment to re-launch this campaign; he assured him that he will provide all possible support so that this menace is eradicated and greenery and beautiful environment of the state is preserved. |
