Jammu | Jan 20 Arrangements for celebrations of Republic Day 2007 at Moulana Azad Stadium Jammu were finalized here last evening in a high level meeting chaired by Minister for Health and Medical Education, Mangat Ram Sharma.The meeting was attended by Divisional Commissioner, Jammu Pramod Jain, Principal Secretary ARI, B. L. Nimesh, Additional Director General Security, Kuldeep Khuda, IGP Jammu, S. P. Vaid, Commissioners of General Administrative and other departments, Deputy Commissioner Jammu, Director School Education Jammu, MD SRTC Joint Director Information, S. K. Sharma, Commissioner Jammu Municipal Corporation and representatives of Army and various other departments. It was decided in the meeting that 12 contingents of Army, BSF, CRPF, JKAP, Auxiliary Police, Fire Services and ex-servicemen, NCC besides two contingents of school children would take part in the march past. It was further told in the meeting that a colourful cultural programme would be presented by Information Department and school children and important installations government buildings including Raj Bhavan, Legislative Complex, High Court, Shaheedi Chowk and other places will be illuminated The meeting was informed that transport facilities would be provided by Police, JKAP, CRPF and SRTC on the Republic Day and also during rehearsal days. The meeting also took various decisions regarding seating arrangements, printing of invitation cards, publicity maintenance of sanitation and cleanliness in and around Moulana Azad Stadium. The meeting told that V.V.I.Ps would also pay tributes to the martyrs who laid their lives on R-Day Jammu in 1995. |
