| Protest held against shortening of Amarnath yatra period | | | Early Times Report
Kathua, Mar 2: Protest was held here by BJP workers under the leader ship of Prof. Sain Dass Gupta against Shri Amarnath Shrine Board''s "anti-Hindu" move of curtailing the period of annual yatra.
over 100 BJp workers held protest here and burnt an effigy of the Board in protest against the curtailment of yatra from a period of two months to 39 days this year. Karan Singh Jamwal, city Gen. Secy said it is unfortunate that the Board had failed to learn any lesson from the 2008 agitation and continued with "anti-Hindu tactics" to curtail the yatra period this year. The Board has failed to provide facilities to pilgrims every year as a result of which a large number of pilgrims did not undertake the yatra this year, he alleged.
