| KVK Budgam organises SAC meet | | | Early Times Report
Budgam, Mar 2 : The Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Budgam conducted its Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC) meeting on February 29, 2012 at SKUAST, Kashmir. The meeting discussed the problem of spurious agri chemicals and fertilisers at length. The meeting decided to organise awareness camps to eradicate the use of spurious and adulterated fertilisers and pesticides. The Vice Chancellor, SKUAST chaired the meet and directed the concerned to formulate a surveillance programme so that reasons for this problem can be identified. He also asked the Krishi Vigyan Kendra authorities to focus on employment generating enterprises like floriculture, vegetable cultivation and poultry farming. He also directed the concerned to organise Kisan Melas in the district with collaboration with concerned departments.The Director Extension Education SKUAST urged for enhancing seed production for the benefit of farmers. Among others, Director Research SKUAST Kashmir, Heads of Divisions, officers of line departments, NGO's, Panchs, Sarpanchs and farmers representatives of the district participated in the meeting. |
