Semis line up drawn in CGEWCC T20

JAMMU, Mar 2: Semifinals position has been cleared in the ongoing Central Government Employees Welfare Coordination Committee (CGEWCC) Twenty20 Cricket Tournament with the entry of Principal Controller of Defense Accounts (PCDA) XI in the last four stages at MA Stadium, here today.
Other two teams making it into the semifinals are Customs and Central Excise, Doordarshan and All India Radio and Accountant General XI. Now, in the semifinals, Doordarshan and AIR shall take on Customs and Excise XI while PCDA shall meet AG XI.
Earlier, in the quarterfinal match played today, Principal Controller of Defence Accounts (PCDA) XI trounced Survey of India (SOI) XI by five wickets.
Batting first, after winning the toss, SOI XI set a target of 127 runs for the loss of eight wickets, which, in reply, PCDA XI chased in 17.5 overs losing five wickets.
Shashi Jamwal was top scorer with 51 runs while Vinod Raina and Rameshwar contributed 18 and 15 runs respectively. From PCDA, Shakti was most successful bowler with three for 15 in four overs. Rakesh Koul bagged two wickets.
Later, sailing on a superb performance from Rakesh Koul, PCDA attained the goal with five wickets in that too sparing 2.1 overs of their innings. Rakesh Koul played brilliant innings of 61 runs studded with eight boundaries while Ejaz Ahmad and Pardeep Bali added 25 and 17 runs respectively. Vinod Raina took two wickets from SOI, followed by Shashi Jamwal and Amit Dogra, who shared apiece each. Today's match was officiated by Rameshwar Dhar and PS Jamwal as umpires while BS Bhan was scorer.
NEXT MATCH: Semifinal: Custom and Central Excise (CCE) shall take on Doordarshan and All India Radio (D&AIR) tomorrow at 9 am.
