Sheikh Nagar, Qasim Nagar people to have all modern facilities: Bhalla | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Mar 3: Minister for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation, Raman Bhalla has said that Sheikh Nagar and Qasim Nagar localities to have all modern facilities adding that Government has taken several innovative measures for upgrading the living standard of poor lot. This was stated by the Minister while reviewing the development related hardships of the inhabitants of the localities, here today. Bhalla asked the Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) to remove debris from drains and choked nallah so that the population of the area does not face any inconvenience. He asked the locals not to put building material in the nallah besides on the way side of lane adding that such practices lead to choking of drains and creating nuisance for other people. The Minister said the Government was committed to provide all infrastructural facilities to the weaker sections of the society across the State like safe drinking water, road connectivity, education, healthcare, regular power supply, besides lanes and drains in their respective basties. He hoped the people will cooperate with executing agencies in effective implementation of development works in their basties. Responding to the locals demand, Bhalla asked the Urban Environmental Engineering Department to prepare estimates for construction of culvert over Qasim Nagar nallah so that road connectivity to Sheikh Nagar people could be provided. He said the link road work would be started after completing the tendering formalities. Regarding replacement of worn out pipes, the Minister asked the PHE to immediately fulfill the demand of the people adding that most of drinking water has been wasted during domestic use due to leakages. |
