Police rescues 12 bovines, accused escape | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Mar 3: In two separate raids, Kathua police have rescued 12 bovine animals being smuggled towards the neighbouring state of Punjab Acting on specific information, a Police party of Police Post Hatli while on patrolling duty in Barrian Pattan area noticed that some persons are loading bovine animals. As soon as the police party approached them, all the accused persons alongwith drivers managed to escape from the spot leaving behind 2 Mahindra load carriers bearing Registration No JK08 B-1531 and JK08 B-3526 loaded with 4 bovine animals. After preliminary enquiry it was established that these bovine animals were being smuggled to Punjab illegally by accused persons. The accused have been identified as Kuldeep Singh of Gurah Panditan, Rajesh Singh and Manzoor Ahmed of Mangloor. Police have launched a man hunt to nab the accused. A Case FIR No 92/2012 under section 188 of Ranbir Penal Code (RPC), 3 C.A Act stands registered at P/S Kathua. Meanwhile, a police party of PP Marheen acting on specific information laid down a naka at Hande Chak near Banyari. On noticing Police Naka two persons identified as Saif Ali and Sain of Bolwon (Banyari) Tehsil Hiranagar who were taking 8 bovine animals on foot towards Punjab State illegally. They managed to escape from the spot leaving behind 8 animals. Police seized the animals and a case FIR No 32/2012 U/S 188 RPC stands registered at P/S Rajbagh. |
