Jammu, Mar 3: A meeting of District Congress Committee Jammu Urban under the presidentship of Om Chopra, ex-MLA was held here at PCC HQ Jammu today.
Speaking on the occasion Chopra said that as per announcement of State Govt. the elections to the Municipal bodies may be held in April-May this year and we should prepare ourselves for these elections. In this connection he asked the grass root workers and party functionaries in the Block and District to hold meetings in every ward of Jammu urban in near future.
He also asked them to suggest to the party, the deserving, capable and honest persons who are popular among the people in their respective wards for these elections.
The meeting was of the opinion that these elections should be held on party basis.
Prominent among those who attended and spoke in the meeting were Krishan Lal Gupta, Mansa Ram, P.S. Chouhan, Ch. Sukh Dev Singh, Madan Lal Malagar, S. Kirtan Singh, V. K.
