3-day International Conference on cultural routes concludes | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Mar 3: The 3-day long International Conference on Global Cultural Routes: Tourism and Socio-Economic Viability concluded here today at University of Jammu. The Conference was organized by Centre for Studies in Muse ology, University of Jammu in association with Ministry of Culture, Govt. of India, Department of Tourism, Govt. of India, Dept. of Tourism & Culture Govt. of J&K and General Zorawar Singh Auditorium Complex, University of Jammu. On the Valedictory function Minister for Higher Education Abdul Gani Malik , was the Chief Guest while Vice Chancellor, Jammu Central University Dr S S Bleoria, was the guest of honour and Vice Chancellor, University of Jammu Prof M P Singh Ishar presided over the function. Speaking on the occasion, Abdul Gani Malik said that the International conference of global cultural routes organized by the University of Jammu has open new ideas, ways and areas which will contribute for the state at large. He said these cultural routes having significant importance in the formation of present era. Malik also said that the development and preservation of these routes is very important for the state in terms of Educational, Political and Scio-economic stability. Malik further added that Govt. of J&K State shall provide all possible support for the preservation of there heritage routes.Dr S S Bleroia in his address threw light on various routes of Jammu and Kashmir like Silk Route, Mughal Road, Pilgrim Route (Vaishno Devi route), Zorawar Route (Military route) and Banihal Cart (BC) route. He said that from time to time all these routes have contributed a lot for the State of Jammu and Kashmir State in terms of trade, pilgrimage, transference of knowledge and heritage tourism. Prof M P Singh Ishar in his address said that these cultural routes are of universal importance and have played very important role in the promotion of tourism in J&K state. He said that this international conference will really act as a booster in preservation and exploration of heritage tourism. |
