Navy fishes out 33 bodies from Krishna

Kurnool, Jan 21
Navy divers and swimmers today retrieved 33 bodies of the victims from the Krishna river.

According to officials here, of the 64 persons feared missing in the boat tragedy on January 18, 33 bodies were recovered from the river and handed over to relatives.

However, search was on to trace out the remaining.

The district administration has asked the people living on the river banks to help the Navy in identifying the victims. It also announced Rs 500 reward to those who retrieve the bodies and inform the same to the administration.

In a related incident, one Anantamma, who was waiting on the banks to know about the fate of her son-in-law Ramachandrudu, a passenger on the boat, died of cardiac arrest.
