Deshmesh, Young Star win ties in hockey | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Mar 3: Deshmesh Club and Young Star Club won their respective ties to move into the next round of the ongoing Ist Maharaja Ranjit Singh Gold Cup Hockey Tournament, organised by Young Star under the aegis of Hockey J&K at Government High School, Simbal Camp, near here today. In the first match of the day, Deshmesh Club blanked Cantt Star Club making it 2-0. Parminder Singh and DD Singh sounded the board in 27th and 42nd minute of the match. Meanwhile, in another match, Young Star registered a 2-1 win over 18 JAK Rifles in a well contested game. Though JAK Rifles took first lead with Hardeep Singh netting the ball in 15th minute, yet they could not do well after the breather and conceded two goals to lose the game. Young Star equalized the score through a penalty stroke awarded in their favour in 38th minute. Jaspreet Singh successfully converted the penalty into goal. The second goal came through Dilbag Singh in the 45th minute of the match. Sarpanch Ravinder Singh was special guest in first match while Parvinder Singh Raja was special invitee in second game of the day. Today's matches were officiated by penal of officials including Iqbal Singh, Manjit singh, Jasbir Singh, Gurmeet Singh, Dilbag Singh, PP Singh and Daljeet singh. |
