| Khajuria gets work of nallah covering started | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Mar 3: BJP national executive & MLA Jammu East Ashok Khajuria, alongwith UEED executive engineer Nissar Khan, AEE Fateh Ali and junior engineer Koul visited Shalimar area of his constituency and got the work of nallah covering started.
Ashok Khajuria while speaking on the occasion said that due to the choking of nallah from Mohalla Paharian to Shalimar was creating problems for the people as well as the shopkeepers and traders. He said that after remodeling and puncturing, this nallah has to be covered with strong side walls. The work for the same has been undertaken today and it is hoped that the solution will be permanent. He also asked the UEED officials accompanying him to ensure that concrete protection walls are erected at the earliest along the shops and other business installations enroute this nallah.
Khajuria said that the nallahs flowing through Jammu's old city were constructed long back by keeping in view the needs of the much less population but with the passage of time new residential constructions have come up as a result of which the nallahs are not serving the purpose but causing problems. Hence, there is an urgent need to look into the present requirements and there after remodel all the old nallahs of the city. He said that these nallahs create havoc during the rainy season and it would be better if the department takes the work at priority and complete the same at the earliest.
