| Principal suspended for allegedly taking bribe | | | Early Times Report
ANANTNAG, Mar 4: A government higher secondary school principal in South Kashmir's Anantnag district has been placed under suspension by authorities for allegedly accepting bribe from the father of a student. Official sources said deputy commissioner, Anantnag, Syed Kifayat Hussain Rizvi suspended the principal after a student alleged that he had paid Rs 500 to him. The student had recorded the entire episode in his mobile phone, the sources added. Sources said he also presented an eyewitness before the deputy commissioner in support of his allegation. The deputy commissioner directed additional deputy commissioner to investigate into the allegation. Sources said Naseemul Ghani, principal of government higher secondary school, Mattan, allegedly demanded a bribe of 10,000 from Zubair Ahmed of Krangsoo, Mattan, who was going to take AIEEE test. But on the intervention of some youth, the deal got finalized at Rs 500. When the principal was allegedly receiving money from Zubair's father Gulzar Ahmed, a youth recorded it in his mobile phone camera. When the video clip was produced before DC, he ordered the suspension of the principal and formed a committee, headed by ADC, Anantnag, to probe into the matter. When contacted, ADC, Anantnag, said the principal had been placed under suspension by the deputy commissioner and further investigation was on.
