| Bhagat Mahasabha hails restricted holiday on Kabir Jayanti | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Mar 4 : Welcoming the decision of state govt to declare Parkash Utsav of Sadguru Kabir Sahib as restricted holiday, which was demand of the Bhagat Mahasabha J&K Unit, National president Prof. Raj Kumar Bhagat said that megh samaj had been struggling for declaration of Holiday on Prakash Utsav of Sadguru Kabir Sahib since Independence. Addressing a press conference here today, Bhagat said that many of the devotees have sacrificed their ripe age for struggling for the cause but because of one or the other reasons, the issue remained unattended.
For the last four years it has been a consistent demand of the Bhagat Mahasabha, to declare Holiday on Prakash Utsav Sadguru Kabir Sahib.
Prof Raj Kumar Bhagat further said that struggle of megh samaj for gazetted holiday will continue. He praised whole cabinet particular Dy CM Tara Chand for fulfilling long pending demand of community.
On the occasion, he announced names of the new office bearers of the state unit of Mahasabha. He said that Dr Rajesh Bhagat is elected as Chairman, Mahinder Bhagat as State co-ordinator, Girdhari Lal Bhagat as President, Tara Chand Bhagat as Sr vice-president, Swarn Bhagat as vice-president, Sanjay Bhagat as General Secretary, Uttam Bhagat as Organizing Secretary, Jai Bhagat as Joint Secretary, Sunny Bhagat as Publicity secretary, Tarsem Bhagat as Treasurer while outgoing president of J&K unit of the Mahasabha Bodh Raj Bhagat was elected as national vice-president of Bhagat Mahasabha. |
