Training of ASHA facilitators on HBNC concludes | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Mar 4: A 7-day long training of ASHA facilitators on Home Based Newborn Care (HBNC) ASHA module 6 and 7 of 2 batches concluded here today at RIHFW Nagrota. The training was organized by J&K Rural Health Mission. 61 Female Multipurpose Health Workers, who have been designated as ASHA facilitators (one for 20 ASHAs) from various blocks of entire Jammu region, were imparted intensive in house training on skill development regarding Care of Newborn, Maternal Care, Home Visit Care for both mother and child. They were also imparted training on how to record the temperature, wrapping to prevent hypothermia in low birth weight and premature babies and in weighing skills. They have also been given training on role and responsibilities as facilitator to monitor the use of various funds under NRHM in the respective areas, involvement of VHSNC members, functionality of ASHAs and ASHA programme in their respective jurisdiction. The training was imparted by Sadiq Khan, Rakesh Sharma, Shahida Yaqoub State trainers of HBNC ASHA Module 6 & 7. On the concluding day today valedictory function was chaired by Dr. Yashpal Sharma Mission Director NRHM J&K. |
