Bhalla launches Rs.88 lakh dev projects
Rs. 2.5 cr deep drill tube at Basant Vihar soon

JAMMU, Mar 4 : To address the drinking water scarcity in Basant Vihar and Bhawani Vihar localities of Trikuta Nagar, Minister for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation, Raman Bhalla today said that a project of Rs. 2.5 crore for digging of 50,000 gallon discharge capacity deep drill tube on identified land and laying of water supply pipes in left out areas has been prepared so that adequate drinking water supply could be provided to the inhabitants well before the start of summer season.
The Minister was said this while addressing a large gathering at Basant Vihar in Trikuta Nagar today.
Bhalla said Government has earmarked Rs. 18.33 lakh for widening of lanes by fixing iron grating over drain in the locality including construction of deep drain. He assured the inhabitants that other genuine developmental demands would also be fulfilled on priority. He directed concerned officers and engineers to formulate plans under different sectors for improving basic facilities in the area. Listing the measures taken by the Government, Bhalla appreciated the efforts of Health Ministry and informed that a 6-storey Maternity hospital near to Gandhi Nagar hospital is under progress at a cost of Rs. 71 crore adding that with the inauguration of the hospital, the facilities at par with SMGS hospital would be provided to the people.
For providing quality medicare facilities to the patients, the Minister said the hospital equipped with all facilities like CT Scan, blood bank, X-ray, operation theatre, maternity, dental, emergency ward, parking, besides administrative block etc adding that most of the sections have been renovated and upgraded with latest techniques.
He said that with the opening of these facilities, the hospital will be able to extended specialized treatment to the patients. He said that now poor people would not have to go to private institutions for availing these facilities.
To ease rush in the city and Gandhi Nagar hospitals, Bhalla said Government has approved Rs. 4.77 crore for construction of Primary Health Centre at Bhore Camp and Lower Gaddigarh besides NS Urban Health Centre at Trikuta Nagar. Responding to the locals demand, the Minister announced Rs. 10 lakh for construction of deep drain including iron gratings. He asked the executing agency to complete the project within stipulated time frame for the benefit of general masses.
