Panthers stands exposed for double standards: DCC | | | Early Times Report UDHAMPUR, Mar 4: Panthers Party stands exposed for its double standards and dubious performance within the State Legislative Assembly, said senior vice president Pradesh Youth Congress (PYC) and general secretary District Congress Committee (DCC) Sham Samotra while addressing monthly meeting of DCC here today. They said on one hand it sides with PDP during voting in Rajya Sabha elections and MLC elections but on the other it distances from opposition while adjournment motions were brought in the Assembly on the issue of 'corruption' and 'curbing media powers'.The Congress leaders said that it is pertinent to mention here that MLAs of Panthers Party have also voted against the party directive and for candidates belonging to a party which the supremo of their party, Prof Bhim Singh, has been repeatedly dubbing as 'anti-national' and 'anti-social'. Bhim Singh had wriggled out of the Azad-led government in 2008 on the very reason that Congress had not snapped ties with PDP. It is now very surprising that now when Congress has maintained a distance from PDP, Panthers Party has developed a novel sort of attraction for it, they added. They further said that the controversial stances of PDP regarding Dogra Certificates, Amarnath land and demands like self-rule, dual control, double currency etc. also cannot be overlooked too easily. People of Jammu have not voted the MLAs of Panthers Party just for 'bartering' their mandate with the pan-Kashmiri and pro-secessionist outfits and take them and their political aspirations and interests for granted, they added. |
