Poonch Mar 4: Launching a scathing attack on the govt. for making deliberate attempts to target the religious sentiments by cutting down the duration of Amarnath yatra, Poonch unit of Samajwadi party, today, warned the govt. of dire consequences, if govt. remains rigid on its decision of allowing Amarnath yatra for 39 days only. Zorawar Singh Shahbaz, Provincial Secretary of Samajawadi Party said, "Govt. should not involve in hurting the religious sentiments of a community and our party strongly condemn the attitude of govt on this issue" adding further, "govt. deliberately wants to repeat the agitation like situation, which occurred three years back on Amarnath land row.
It would be best, if govt. concentrates on developmental aspects only and should not involve in sensitive issues. Govt. decision of 39 days yatra took the minority community by stride and if govt. fails to address this issue, it would lead to tough days in whole country in general and J&K in particular in times to come. Mohd. Shafi Khatan, district vice president said, "Govt. is speaking the language of Hurriyat leaders and its an attempt to bring down the morale of a community by announcing such decisions and our party condemned the attitude of govt and warns govt. not to cut the yatra period and allows it for full period. Others who spoke on the occasion were Payara Lal Bali, Afzal Chouhan and Suresh Raina.
