Early Times Report
Jammu, Mar 4: In continuation of its "Jan Sammelans" being organised in different parts of Jammu, BJP today held massive public rally in Rehari Colony.
It was attended by over 500 party activists and the general public.
BJP State President Shamsher Singh Manhas, who was the chief guest on the occasion, said that Rehari area houses the population of people from Mirpur, Kotli and other areas of Pakistan, who lost their close ones during 1947 partition.
They had tears and sorrows but being true nationalists, all of them put their best efforts to stand like a rock against all odds and threats posed by Pakistan to grab areas of this erstwhile princely state. We can never forget their supreme sacrifices and hence salute them for their bravery and resolve to work towards making J&K as an integral part of India.Manhas said that the blood running in our veins is of our ancestors for whom nation, nation's interests in J&K and full integration of the state was the supreme mission. Although Pakistan made repeated attempts to snatch and destabilize our state but our brave patriotic people always gave a befitting reply to it.
He said although we are independent but still there is threat to the unity and integrity of the country not from across the borders but from within as well because separatists and Kashmir-centric political parties like NC and PDP are promoting the cause of separatists while Congress has totally surrendered before them for remaining in power.
It is the BJP only, which have never compromised on its ideology and principles and hence deserves the support of people of Jammu in the forthcoming urban local bodies elections. Party MLA Jugal Kishore Sharma said that ours is a party with difference and same was once again proved when we did not compromise on the corruption issue and took hard decision as we can never think of hurting the sentiments of people who voted us. He said that the NC and Congress hatched a conspiracy to weaken BJP by luring some of our colleagues but merely involvement of a few party men in unhealthy acts can not make any impact on the image of party.
State general secretary Sat Sharma said that instead of thinking of self, it should be our first duty to ensure that we set examples of patriotism.
While parties like PDP and NC are promoting dynastic rule, BJP stands for nation and its unity. He appealed the masses to strengthen BJP so that self-centric parties are shown the way. BJYM State president Munish Sharma reiterated his morcha's resolve to highlight the grievances of the youth through all democratic means. He said that lakhs of educated youth is unemployed due to absence of any youth policy in the state and asked the youth in particular to support BJP in its tirade against anti-youth policies of the NC-Congress coalition government.
Earlier dozens of youth joined BJP in presence of senior leaders of the party in this programme organised by ward nos. 24 and 25. Ramesh Gupta, Sanjay Khanna, Arun Chibber, Praduman Singh,Anil Gupta, Munish Raja, Rajni Sethi also addressed the gathering.
